If you are like me you think – I’ll never have a car accident! And then it happens – in my case I had a seizure while driving, and I went off the road and ran into a street sign, knocked over a letter box and ran up an embankment.

Being insured with Club 4×4 made the next steps a whole lot easier. With me laid up in hospital, my partner contacted Club 4×4 and lodged a claim. The crew at Club 4×4 claims made the whole process easy. They organised for the car to be taken to a repairer close to where the accident happened, but convenient for us to get to.

The claim was approved within a few days, and then the bad news came. The chassis turned out to be beyond repair, and therefore Club 4×4 determined that the car was in fact a write off.

While we were disappointed that our car was beyond repair, the way Club 4×4 handled the matter made it much easier to deal with. The Club 4×4 team contacted us, made sure we had time to get our personal items from the car, and then arranged to pay us the agreed insured value of the car. We had the money in our bank account within a few days after we had retrieved our personal items.

Overall the claims experience with Club 4×4 was easy, uncomplicated and speedy. They were proactive in keeping us informed. I would hope that having such a significant accident is a once in a life time event. However, knowing the type of service we can expect from Club 4×4 if we do have to lodge a claim in the future, the decision to insure our new car with Club 4×4 is a no brainer.

Planning Fuel Stops for Remote Area Travel

Fuel planning for remote travel doesn’t need to be complicated, but it does need to be conservative. It’s about understanding your real-world consumption, knowing how far you can comfortably travel, allowing a buffer, and choosing fuel-carrying solutions that are simple and easy to live with.
