Club 4X4 Claims Review – Anthony Clarke

We were about to embark on a four week trip to Central Australia that included a solo crossing of the Simpson Desert, and although we had taken every precaution to ensure our Mitsubishi Challenger was well-prepared, the possibility of a mechanical failure is always real. You hear the stories of recoveries that cost many thousands of dollars and up until now, that was just a risk you had to take if you wanted to travel remotely.

Some friends mentioned Club 4X4 and their vehicle recovery policy. We investigated and decided to take the $15,000 cover option. Taking this option gave us a real sense of security and peace of mind.

Well, we had a wonderful crossing of the Simpson in perfect weather and celebrated our uneventful crossing on the top of Big Red. No need for any expensive recoveries for us!

However, sometimes it’s the simplest of things……Three days later, as we were selecting our campsite on the banks of Coopers Creek, we backed into a low hanging branch and damaged the rear of our vehicle.

So, we’d only been insured with Club 4×4 for a few weeks, when we had to make a claim. The whole process was handled in an efficient and helpful manner. Carly, who took our initial call, and Justin, who processed our claim couldn’t have been more helpful.

Our damage was fixed by a repairer of our choice and in no time it was all done. We now have our Challenger back on the road and ready for our next trip.

And we will definitely be insuring with Club 4×4 again next year. The outback is calling us again!
