We recently ran a competition with our mates at What’s Up Down Under with a number of chances to win a ‘money can’t buy’ experience to go behind the scenes on a 2-week filming trip in Outback QLD for their upcoming TV series. Our winner has been drawn and we would like to give a huge congratulations to our lucky winner, John Dolan!

You might be a fan of this show on Network Ten but if you aren’t familiar with it, What’s Up Down Under celebrates all things caravanning and camping.

Hosted by Macca, an avid outdoorsman and true blue Aussie larrikin, the show will take John on a once in a lifetime experience through Outback QLD.

John will have the privilege of working closely with Macca and the crew as an integral part of the adventure. He will play a co-hosting role in 4 episodes and have the unique experience of seeing exactly what goes into putting the What’s Up Down Under TV show together. John will also get to drive a Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 from GM Specialty Vehicles with a caravan in tow as home for the trip.

The trip itself will take about 2 weeks, starting in Brisbane and making its way into Outback Queensland to experience the best it has to offer. Look out for the show, which will be filmed around late July and aired on Network 10 later in the year!

Congratulations to our two runners up winners, Graeme Pearce and Warwick Campbell, who will receive a prize pack worth $918.95, which includes:

  • Uniden UH750-2 Handheld UHF Radio Kit
  • Oricom TPS9 Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
  • Bushranger Black Max Air Compressor
  • Bushranger Tyre Deflator Gauge
  • Plugga III Tyre Repair Kit
  • Leatherman Monarch 3 Torch

Would you like to go on a similar trip? We may run similar competitions in the future with our friends in the 4X4 media industry if it’s something you’d find exciting!

Built for the Road, Covered for the Journey

When you travel full time, you don’t just drive a 4X4 - you live in it. Every mod, every upgrade, every tweak under the bonnet or on the canopy has been added with purpose. It’s about having the right gear, in the right place, ready for whatever the road (or lack of one) throws your way.

What Tyres Does Your Caravan REALLY Need

There’s no shortage of opinions on what tyres your caravan should be running. You’ve probably heard everything from “just match your tow rig” to “it doesn’t matter, they’re not even driven wheels.” Like most things in the touring world, the truth sits somewhere between bush logic and engineer-speak.
