Club 4X4 is once again supporting the 2019 Drive to The Top charity 4WD event from 28 Feb to 03 March. This great charity event raises much needed funds for Hope Street, a charity that provides some of society’s most vulnerable people with support in the form of:

  • Providing employment pathways
  • Interest free loans for critical household items
  • Help with Homelessness and Domestic Violence
  • Affordable Food
  • Pathways for people to exit the Sex Industry

The great thing about Drive To The Top? The process of raising funds for this amazing charity includes some wheeling; this year starting in Jindabyne and travelling through the Snowy Mountains to finish in Tom Groggin covering approximately 600 beautiful kilometeres. Along the way, participants also get the opportunity to experience some of the food and accommodation provided to the homeless via Hope Street to understand how this charity helps at the coalface.

If you are looking for an enjoyable few days away in the Snowy Mountains on an organised 4WD trip, and are keen to help raise some money for the less fortunate, this is for you. It’s easy to sign up and get involved – visit https://tothetop2019.gofundraise.com.au/cms/drive for details and entry.

Entry costs $350.00 for the driver, plus an additional $150.00 for your co driver should you have one (this covers meals, accommodation etc). Plus you need to commit to raising a minimum of $600.00 for Hope Street.

We want to have as many people involved as possible, so much so that if you sign up for the event we’ll give you the chance to win your entry fee back!! All you need to do is sign up for the event before February 1, email your entry confirmation to thecampfire@club4x4.com.au and we’ll put your name in the draw. We’ll draw the winner on February 7th and announce them via Facebook and The Campfire.

As mentioned, you can find further information on the event at https://tothetop2019.gofundraise.com.au/cms/drive.

You can find out more on Hope Street at https://hopestreet.org.au/

I look forward to seeing some of you out on the road!

The Golden Rules of Off-Road Towing

Off-road towing puts big loads through every part of your vehicle, and if the setup isn’t right, things can unravel quickly. Broken components, poor control, and near-miss moments usually come back to the same few fundamentals. Get those right, and towing in the bush becomes predictable, controlled, and far more enjoyable.

Planning Fuel Stops for Remote Area Travel

Fuel planning for remote travel doesn’t need to be complicated, but it does need to be conservative. It’s about understanding your real-world consumption, knowing how far you can comfortably travel, allowing a buffer, and choosing fuel-carrying solutions that are simple and easy to live with.
