After Volkswagen shook up the dual-cab ute segment with the most powerful and torquiest V6 diesel, the rest of range has been updated with some of the other improvements that were introduced.

The front look has been tweaked up slightly over the older Amarok, with a more angular and aggressive look that includes daytime-running lights. There is an updated interior with the new 7in infotainment system, along with new switchgear and an improved button layout.

There’s some new safety technology called ‘Multi-Collision Braking System’, which will apply brakes and limit steering in the event of a prang. The idea is that it can stop a follow-on collision, but can also be over-ridden by the driver.
