Club 4X4 Insurance Hits the Sand for the K'gari Clean Up

Supporting the K’gari Clean Up is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back to the community that built and drives us, while helping to preserve the landscape that makes Aussie 4WDing unlike anywhere else in the world.

We’re packing our gear and heading off the beaten track! From 23–25 May, the Club 4X4 Insurance team will be rolling onto K’gari (formerly Fraser Island) to take part in the annual K’gari Clean Up – one of the country’s largest community-led environmental initiatives.

Timed to coincide with National Volunteer Week, the Clean Up brings together more than 500 volunteers and over 20 Queensland-based 4WD clubs to help remove more than 6.5 tonnes of rubbish from the World Heritage-listed island. In 2024, 80% of the rubbish removed had washed ashore – the rest was left behind by visitors. Together, participants are working to preserve K’gari’s stunning beaches and incredible biodiversity – a place rightfully known to the Butchulla people, its Traditional Owners, as ‘paradise’.

We’re proud to be getting involved again this year, joining our mates from the Four Wheel Drive Association QLD to help keep this special destination pristine and accessible for future adventurers. Supporting initiatives like this is just one way we live out our purpose: protecting not just vehicles, but a way of life.

At Club 4X4, our purpose goes beyond insuring vehicles – it’s about safeguarding and future-proofing a way of life. Supporting the K’gari Clean Up is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back to the community that built and drives us, while helping to preserve the landscape that makes Aussie 4WDing unlike anywhere else in the world.

— Tony Mitchell, CEO | Club 4X4 Insurance

This year, we’re also bringing some extra hands (and great energy!) with us – our ambassadors, The Feel Good Family. You’ll be able to follow the adventure with our team and theirs, as we share the clean-up effort, some K’gari highlights, and everything in between across our social channels.
