During my recent 8 week adventure with my son and I through Out Back Queensland, part of the Northern Territory and up to Cape York I needed to make a claim. We had the misfortune of three days into our adventure a 4×4 towing a caravan coming in the opposite direction flick up a big rock which hit the corner of the windscreen. Which resulted in a few cracks in the glass which with every bump on the dirt road we were travelling on getting bigger and longer going across the windscreen. We headed back to the little town of Windorah in Out Back Queensland. Luckily they had a public phone where I rang the guys at club 4×4. They were so helpful knowing that I was in the middle of nowhere. I’d taken out wind screen protection with my policy which came in really handy. We travelled to Longreach and paid for the windscreen to be replaced. I emailed the receipt through to the claims department and 3 days later the money was in my account. *Note from Club 4X4 – What made Stuart’s claim special was that in Stuart’s case, there was a 3 week wait on the windscreen he required through the usual supplier. In this case, Club 4X4 was able to work with Stuart to identify a local company in a nearby town which had a windscreen in stock. In this case, we approved the claim for the customer over the phone. He paid upfront for the windscreen to get the repair done, and we promptly reimbursed him for the repairs so he could continue his trip the next day.
